Nothing is consummate without Jesus. He is the "Author" and the "Completer," the "Showtime" and the "End" (Hebrews 12:2, Revelation 22:13). Everything exists because of Him, and everything is missing something without Him; and not just missing something, but the fundamental thing; the thing that supplies true meaning and purpose to all things.

That'south what the Bible means when information technology says of Jesus, "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen (Romans 11:36).

This applies to everything, the breathing and the inanimate alike. Take for example the One-time Attestation Law. Jesus said, "Do not call back that I accept come up to abolish the Constabulary or the Prophets; I have non come up to abolish them only to fulfill them" (Matthew 5:17). In other words, the OT Police is incomplete, information technology's missing something without Jesus.

Sometimes when Jesus is missing it'due south more than evident than at other times. Accept for case Exodus 31:15, where we read, "You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the 7th day must be a Sabbath solar day of complete rest, a holy day defended to the LORD. Anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death."

"Relax or die!" Isn't that what God is saying here? We tend to focus on the long list of things the Constabulary commands us to exercise, but what about the command to rest from all of our doing? It's hard to say which of the 2 we fail at most miserably, our doing or our resting.

Nevertheless, "Anyone who works on the Sabbath must exist put to decease," seems like a gross and bizarre overreaction on God'due south part. In what universe does this punishment fit this crime? It makes sense that doing the incorrect things should be a criminal offense, but should declining to do nothing exist a punishable criminal offense? And so severly punished?

Clearly, there's something missing.

missingpieceAPPLICATION

"Relax or die!" makes no sense without Jesus; with Jesus, it makes perfect sense.

That's because Jesus IS the Sabbath rest nosotros all so desperately need!  By fulfilling all of the commands of the Law and past offering His perfect life as a sacrifice for our sins, Jesus became our Sabbath residual.

They tell u.s. that if we just practise abroad with religion, wars would terminate. They tout the John Lennon philosophy, made popular in the song "Imagine."

Only what those who hold this stance have failed to accept into account is that the 20th century was the bloodiest century in the history of mankind, and that the atrocities of that century were committed by anti-religious movements, led by men like Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Lenin, Chiang Kai-shek, Hideki Tojo, and Pol Pot. These men were not religiously motivated, yet they ruthlessly slaughtered millions of people:
